The men’s A-team narrowly lost to Slovakia at home. Today, they will play against Sweden away!

The new head coach of the Estonian national team, Jürgen Henn, has called up five Levadia players for the Nations League matches: Mihkel Ainsalu, Michael Schjønning-Larsen, Ioan Yakovlev, Karl Andre Vallner, and Rasmus Peetson, who had to withdraw due to illness. The first match was held on September 5 against Slovakia (0-1). Today, they will face Sweden away from home.

On September 5, the men’s A-team played against Slovakia at home. From Levadia’s squad, Mihkel Ainsalu and Michael Schjønning-Larsen started in the main lineup, and Ioan Yakovlev came on in the 77th minute. In the 90+6th minute, Yakovlev won a free kick for Estonia near the corner flag, but unfortunately, it didn’t lead to a goal. A few minutes earlier, Yakovlev came very close to scoring. Overall, the performance was better than before, and the crowd believed in the Estonian team’s success until the end. Unfortunately, the desired result wasn’t achieved this time.

Today, Estonia faces Sweden in the second Nations League match, having lost to them last time (2-1). The match will kick off today, September 8, at 21:45 at the Strawberry Arena in Solna. The game can be watched on ETV+.

FCI Levadia wishes the guys and the entire national team the best of luck!
